One of the many roles the Type 82E was used in was a staff car. The Type 82E was a simple, plain vehicle and lacked the glamorous finish and extras of the larger vehicles used by senior officers. The Type 82E was usually provided to mid and junior officers as well as low ranked government officials. Compared to some of the other vehicles that were available to lower ranked personnel the Type 82E offered; a degree of comfort, an enclosed cabin providing warmth and protection from the elements.
