Joyless is a depressive rock(post-Forgotten Woods) project for Olav, Rune and Thomas. There arebands so much capable of writing history that their intutionsbecome a trend for the followers. These bands can be rightfullyrecognized as fathers of their musical genre. Wisdom And Arroganceis the second output of the project, but also the first to showJoyless in a comprehensive form, an evolution of the first wildsigns that characterized the bands debut, with songs swiftingtowards more contaminated negative rock territories. The album hasbeen indeed an influence on the scene and was released by the youngKvarforth (Shining) via his personal label Selbstmord Services.Together with Unlimited Hate, the debut, these albums have becomepart of the series to emphasize their importance in experimentingdifferent forms of hateful and negative music, showing thepotential progression that Black Metal would have reached at alater stage, and making of Joyless a precursor of that irreverentattitude and creativity later flaunted by bands like Lifelover andShining.
