With their1994 album Punk In Drublic, NOFX truly hit their stride. Thequartet didn’t change their approach at all — at their core, theyremain a heavy, speed-addled, hook-conscious post-hardcore punkgroup — but their songwriting has improved, as has their attack.Prior to this record, they merely showed promise, but with Punk InDrublic they fulfilled their potential. Their single from the albumLeave It Alone is a song that urges listeners to embrace change andnew experiences, but also to accept things as they are. The trackhas references to a song called Bringing In The Sheaves that waswritten in 1874 by Knowles Shaw. It is a popular American gospelsong strongly associated with Protestant Christians. Despite thisfact, both credited songwriters, Fat Mike and Eric Melvin areJewish. The cd single features one more track from Punk In Drublic,one live version of Soul Doubt and the rare and previouslyunreleased track with the controversial title Drugs AreGood.
