Similar inscope to stepping on a land mine, or Australia´s Extreme Metalkings Damaged, same difference really, Bolt Thrower´s a name that´sheralded with age old "true" Metal tradition strewn with sludge,speed, and shell shock. A bloody reunion between Manowar, MorbidAngel, and The English Dogs — Forward Into Battle indeed — in fullcombat mode, "Honour - Valour - Pride" is prepared to deal anotherdeath blow into the heart of complacency while adding a new chapterto their durable yet unheralded history. Bolt Thrower´s traditionof Grind-it-out attitude put to ferocious riffs, double-bassblasts, and war-torn lyricism has haunted listeners for over adecade now and never have they ever backed off their belief-toproduce skull-crushing death dirges with honourable intent andoptimum volume. The nine songs here, all methodical in theirapproach, often satisfy themselves by way of a torturous slow killfused with heart-stopping quick strikes of thrashed-up rage. Whilea song like "Inside The Wire" or "Suspect Hostile" often convey anin the mud monotony, often enough the desirable outcome isrevealed-"Contact - Wait Out," "Honour," "The Offensive" should youmanage to survive the initial offensive. Potent riff lines mergewith eerie tonality and death grunts (fare thee well Karl Willets,hail new vocalist Dave Ingram formerly of Benediction) in aconsuming campaign of epic proportions fitting in their usualdrudgery fed on nightmares of napalm. As always, a Bolt Throweralbum is an exercise in duress put to perilous first personperspective from behind enemy lines where your only defence is yourstrength of will and belief in God and it won´t take long beforethey´re drained from you.
