A volume of Signal magazines from 1942.

Signal was a German illustrated magazine published in many languages between 1940 and 1945. It was particularly famous for its extensive use of colour photos at a time when most magazines were still monochrome. Time magazine was perhaps its closest equivalent.

The magazines are almost all in very good condition, an exception being that the back cover of Nr.16 is missing. They are bound with a red cloth cover with gold lettering. Occasional chipping, a few tears, and some browning as commensurate with their age. Their value is greatly increased by the inclusion of several rare English language issues.

The issues are:
Danish (Da) edition: Nrs. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22
English (E) edition: Nrs. 16, 18, 23/24

Nr. 23/24 is a special double issue of 72 pages. A price has been stamped on the cover which appears to be “9 d”, indicating it was probably sold in the Channel Island – the only part of the UK to be occupied by the Germans in WW2.

In total 23/24 issues, including 3/4 of the ‘E’ edition. This is the complete year.

The volume is very heavy, weighing about 5kg. Postage from Ireland to EU destinations and the UK will be Euro 40. Please contact me for a postage quotation for other destinations.
