ABU SIMBEL, PHILAE... SAVED

Under the auspices of UNESCO, the years from 1960 to 1980 were marked by an unprecedented movement of solidarity to save and preserve the temples of Egyptian Nubia threatened by the Nile waters. Twenty temples were rescued and preserved, some of them: Kalabsha, Amada, Abu Simbel and Philae had to be reconstructed on new sites specially chosen for the purpose.

It is a living testimony of our era!
