Engraved ca year 1800 by Daniel Friedrich Loos (1735-1819). Silver 36 mm. Weight 13,9 gram.
Obverse: Image of the winged God of Time, holding a scythe in right hand, flying over the earth with the inscription "DIE ZEIT ENTFLIEHT" (Times flyes away). Engravers signature "LOOS" in front of leg.
Reverse: Rose in bloom."DOCH EURE LIEBE WIRD ES NIE" (But your love never will).
DANIEL FRIEDRICH LOOS (1735-1819)
Daniel Friedrich Loos (15 June 1735 in Altenburg – † 1 October 1819 in Berlin) was a German medalist, engraver and die cutter.
Loos was a pupil of Friedrich Stieler (1705–1758) in Altenburg, from 1754 at the Leipzig mint and from 1756/57 in Magdeburg at the mint there. In 1768 he became the first medalist at the Prussian main mint in Berlin, where he later became a royal Prussian court medalist.
