Saturday the 19th of September 1998 saw the conclusion of theBridge To Babylon tour, which had kept the band on the road foralmost a year. The very last show of the tour took place at AliSami Yen Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, and are presented on thisdvd. This show was the nearest show from the ancient city ofBabylon, and the first for the band in Turkey. The audience wasreally crazy but the show had been shortened down and the band onlyplayed 2 songs on the small stage. At the beginning Mick had somevoice problems and after Satisfaction he went backstage to ask formore mix on his microphone. To our surprise, he made his usual sexygame with Lisa during Miss You, and the crowd went hysterical.Keith said it was the last show, so they could have some extra fun,as friends came on stage to do some backing vocals. We could seeone of Keith's Jamaican friends singing a bit backing vocals duringThief In The Night, and a few minutes later, Lisa brought Mick'sson with her on stage during the intro of Honky Tonk Women. PaintIt Black was the perfect song for the night, and a must forIstanbul, with it's oriental harmonics. And Mick introduced it asinfluenced by Turkish music. Then Keith played his soul into theintro. Too bad Charlie was already dreaming of being home inEngland, because no drums took over, the drums that makes Paint ItBlack so great. Keith turned his head, looking at Charlie, turned,walked back ten feet or so to Charlie, and then, as he had kept italive with his added guitar chords, there he was, Charlie, Mr.Paint It Black, bringing it all alive with his great drumming.Keith was so strong on the guitar tonight, and Ronnie really playeda lot of great guitar as well. Mick worked hard on the crowd, evenif he did not run out on the wings as much as he use to do. Thestadium was medium size only, may be 30,000 capacity for football,maximum. The field was only 60% full, and I would guess there werearound 30,000 people in the crowd. But the fans who came made agreat show and a great crowd - a nice closing of this tour.
