Iittala, Dove of Peace Plate by Alfred Gustaffson, early 1900s

Clear pressed glass dessert plate in Jugendstil with a central medallion depicting the Dove of Peace (Rauhankyyhky) in flight holding a twig. This universal peace symbol is framed by a circular border of stylised leaf motifs, while the rim is finished with a bead-like scalloped edge.

The model was first listed in the 1892 Iittala glassworks catalogue and remained in production into the 1920s, also appearing in the 1922 Karhula–Iittala catalogue. The mould was crafted by Alfred Gustafsson, a skilled mould maker of the era.

Diameter: approx. 14.5 cm. Very good vintage condition.
