Ceti from Poznanis one of Polands longest running heavy metal acts but they arentas well known as their fellow countrymen in Turbo or Kat. Formed inOctober of 1989 by Turbo singer Grzegorz Kupczyk as a side-project.With him he brought Turbo members Andrzej Lysow and MarihuanaAmadea. The group was named after a 1971 NASA program called“Communication with Extraterrestrial Intelligence”. Their debutalbum, Czama Roza, managed to reach the charts in their homecountry when it came out in 1989. Their second album, Lamiastrata,helped the band getting gigs outside Poland. For the third album,Rasizm that was released in 1994, it was clear that the band wantedto take Ceti to the next level but however there were some internalissues and musical differences between guitarist Lysow and Kupczykand it affected the end result. Rasizm was the first of the bandsalbums not getting commercial success on its release, besides thesong Epitafium, that were played on Polish radio. Lysow left andthe remaining members would go on for another year but afterrecording new music the band decided to release it as a Kupczyksolo album. The solo album W Imie Prawa was successful and the soloname would be used up until 2001 when they decided to go back tothe old moniker of Ceti.
