Adidas Authentic 1970s Vintage Medium Travel Gym Handbag – Rare Collectible

This is a vintage Adidas sports bag from the 1970s, most likely from 1976, as indicated by the unique "1976 – MADRID" Adidas logo embossed with a footballer graphic. Notably, the bag does not feature the modern Trefoil logo or the three-bar Adidas Performance logo: Instead, it showcases Adidas' earlier, minimalist branding with bold lowercase lettering and classic stripe elements. This piece is a collectible example of Adidas’ early design history, reflecting a more understated and utilitarian aesthetic typical of its pre-modern era.

CONDITION

This bag is in very good vintage condition. The PVC exterior remains shiny and intact, with no major damage. There are only minor surface scratches, mostly around the logo area. The metal zipper is fully functional and runs smoothly.. The interior shows expected age-related wear but no tears making it a well-preserved collectible. See photos above for details.
