"1964 - Stuntman Killed In Tunnel Of Fire: Stuntman Stephen Ladd, 25, of Tottenham, London, died yesterday when he rode his motor cycle into a 50-yard long tunnel of flaming straw bales, at Wintry Park Farm, at Epping, Essex. He had already successfully raced through the tunnel, breaking the record for riding through fire - but then went through a second time, but his machine lost speed and he was dead before rescuers could get him clear. Photo shows Firemen run forward in an effort to rescue stuntman Stephen Ladd but their efforts were in vain and Ladd perished in the flames.
