Very good condition
The present seated Buddha presumably dates from the Republic period (1912-1949). The laughing Buddha is depicted with long earlobes and prayer beads (mala) in his left hand. The long earlobes are a symbol for the asceticism of the Buddha who has shed any secular goods.
The figure shows two blind stamps and the number 16 on the underside. The back is fitted with a brown wax seal stamp reading 'Customs Permission'. The Buddha is in very good condition with only minimal wear. The wax seal stamp has been fixed with adhesive tape. The dimensions of the figure are approximately 22 x 21 x 12.5 cm.
