Beskrivning

As a graduate (see pictures) of the prestigious International Gemological Institute (IGI), I had the privilege of receiving comprehensive training in both the theoretical and practical aspects of diamond grading, identification, and evaluation. Established in 1975 in Antwerp, Belgium—widely considered the diamond capital of the world—IGI has become one of the most respected and influential gemological organizations globally. The institute’s legacy is built on its unwavering commitment to precision, impartiality, and the development of grading systems that have since become industry standards. IGI’s reputation as a trusted authority in diamond certification remains unparalleled, and its educational programs are revered by professionals throughout the gem industry.

Throughout my training at IGI, I gained in-depth knowledge that has since become the cornerstone of my expertise. The rigorous curriculum covered all facets of gemstone and diamond evaluation, equipping me with the necessary tools and methodologies to assess these precious items with accuracy and objectivity. The importance of precision in gemology cannot be overstated, and the foundational principles instilled in me by IGI continue to shape my approach to diamond assessment.

The diamonds offered here were meticulously recovered from estate and vintage jewelry pieces that had reached the end of their wearable life and were scheduled for refining. After the precious metals, such as gold, were extracted, the remaining stones—primarily diamonds—were carefully removed and preserved for individual assessment. Importantly, the initial value of these items was realized through the recovery of the metal, and our focus is not on maximizing profit from the stones themselves but on offering them to discerning buyers who will appreciate their inherent value, craftsmanship, and historical significance.

Each stone has been personally examined using industry-standard gemological tools and methods, including loupe inspection, visual assessment, and other techniques developed over years of practice. Based on my extensive training and professional experience, these stones are confidently identified as natural diamonds. However, it is essential to acknowledge that stones that were previously set in jewelry and no longer possess original documentation may require more advanced testing to definitively confirm their attributes. While we strive to provide the most accurate evaluation possible, this limitation is recognized within the gemological community, particularly in the secondary market where definitive testing may not always be feasible outside a laboratory setting.

In summary, while every effort has been made to ensure an accurate assessment of these diamonds, all evaluations are based on the tools, training, and expertise available to me under the given circumstances. Buyers who seek absolute verification of a stone’s characteristics, including its cut, clarity, color, or treatment history, are encouraged to pursue additional testing through an accredited gemological laboratory.

It is also important to note that, due to the nature of these products, returns will not be accepted on the basis of dissatisfaction, change of preference, or personal assessment after the sale. The nature of gemstones, particularly those recovered from estate and vintage jewelry, means that tampering or swapping stones can occur, and as such, we are unable to offer returns in such circumstances. However, returns may be considered on a case-by-case basis under the following conditions: if a stone is found to be inconsistent with the description provided, or if it is determined that the item has been misrepresented in some way.

By proceeding with the purchase, you acknowledge and accept that these stones have been evaluated to the best of our professional ability but that limitations inherent to the secondary market and the testing methods employed may apply. This includes, but is not limited to, limitations concerning the full certification of a stone’s authenticity, treatment history, and grading—each of which could require testing outside the scope of standard gemological inspection.

Furthermore, while no formal certification has been issued for these stones through IGI or any other accredited laboratory, the evaluation presented is based on my comprehensive gemological training and professional experience, which aligns with industry standards. As such, all sales are final and the buyer assumes full responsibility for any additional testing, verification, or further inquiries concerning the authenticity or specific attributes of the stones purchased. The lack of original certification or accompanying documentation should be understood as a normal characteristic of secondary market transactions, where formal certification may not always be available.

By making a purchase, you expressly agree that the goods are being offered "as is," and that all evaluations and statements made are to the best of my knowledge and experience, and that no further guarantees, warranties, or assurances—either express or implied—are provided beyond those explicitly outlined in this description.
