The Lighthouse second EP, Joyride, features six catchy indie-popsongs, all very close together. Its now obvious that this band fromLeuven in Belgium has found its own sound, and it is stillcontagious. This band has not only performed at Pukkelpop but adozen other festival over Belgium as well as Germany and France.The extensive touring together with this 10" single should gain theband alot of new followers. Joyride is a very catchy opening song.The drums are reminiscent of the British indie pop act FickleFriends while the guitar riffs are reminiscent of the Manchesteract, The 1975. Like the bulk of The Lighthouse songs, Joyridecolours your day with cheerful synths and guitars. Gold is anothergood pop song while Late Night Swimming shows another side of theband. Its a beautiful and emotional song. With this 6-track EP theband has tried some new things while still being clearly groundedin their own sound. Some songs on here is a multi-layered poppearl. The vocals go very high right away, the guitars are just ascatchy as before and anyone into swinging indie-pop songs shouldcheck this band out
