A very fine specimen of Faber-Castell ”alpha-matic”
in mint condition with box and user manual.

Faber-Castell ”alpha-matic” has the mechanical pencil auto lead system, 0.5mm. The common characteristic of the ”alpha-matic” pencils are the design and the automatic mechanism. You can use the pencil like a standard “click and advance” device or you can click a few times just to have the lead in position, then the pencil will advance the lead for you, enabling 180 meters of uninterrupted writing! The metallic border of the pencil will retract and, when you move the end a little bit up, it will go back in position bringing with it the lead.

This pencil is made in the united Germany, so probably sometimes 1990-95. And sadly, nothing in this quality and functions are made today!
