An offshoot of Post-Punk movement in the early 1980s, Goth quickly became a label for bands as diverse as The Cure, Siouxsie & The Banshees and, later, The Sisters Of Mercy.

This collection documents the rich and eclectic musical heritage from which the pioneers of the scene drew their inspiration, often finding their pulse in surprising places. From the French romantic compositions of Berlioz and Saint-Saens, to the chilling refrains of Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana'.
