ABOUT THE SOFTWARE
In Portugal, forests and the forest sector face important challenges centred on the sustainability of forestry models, on the assurance of a continuous providing of environmental and social services and on maintaining and increasing products flow based on endogenous resources.
The Portuguese forest presents well marked characteristics of diversity and multiple use, resulting from a lasting action of Man on a territory subject to different climatic influences. The current framework of forest systems is therefore a complex product of the interaction between the ecological matrix and the social economic dynamics completed, at different levels by public policies and by initiatives of the private sector.
