Straight from Stockholm rock city here are The Sewergrooves.These disciples of all things heavy pound the graves of The Wipers,early Urge Overkill and Thin Lizzy then proceed to wash it all downwith a curdled cocktail of motor city septic tank backwash. Butthis trip ain't just about ragged ass raw power. The Sewergroovesalso dish out ample gobs of both melody and hooks with theirthunder. It all started when Kurt was sharing a minimal apartmentwith Andreas Broman, a guitarist who Kurt knew from Kiruna. Theystarted to make recordings together on Kurt's four-tracker. Kurtbegan to send the recordings he and Andreas had made around theworld. He especially saw to it that Nicke Andersson of theHellacopters got a copy. Nicke forwarded the tape to theHellacopters drummer Robban Eriksson who liked it so much that hephoned Kurt up. The guys all met and The Sewergrooves were born.With the line-up of Kurt on guitar and vocals, Andreas on bass andRobban behind the drums. However a few years later The Hellacoptershad become much in demand and it claimed all the time from Robertand he had to quit. With a new line-up the band continued and thissingle was released in 2005. Anyone into Swedish garage rock alaThe Hellacopters should check this band out
