Stryper has been putting out some of their best material in thelast three albums, No More Hell To Pay, Fallen, and God Damn Evil.Even The Devil Believes continues this trend with what may be oneof their finest albums, both lyrically and musically, in theirstoried career. It has a little bit of everything that makes themgreat. There are tracks with the signature Stryper sound and othersthat branch into new territory, and all but one are hard andaggressive. That one is This I Pray, which is a guitar-drivenballad that makes you think of the days when hair metal bands puton their cowboy hats and boots and for me is one of the top trackson the album. Other stand-outs include Let Him In, a song thatbegins with John 3:16, and Do Unto Others. For God And Rock n Rollis the reason why arenas were created. This one would blow thedoors off and then tear through the place. It is an anthem. Theproduction quality is top notch, the guitar work is clean, crisp,technical at times, and as good as ever. Some of the guitar solosblew me away and the signature Stryper guitar harmonies neverdisappoint. There’s a little bit of everything in this album fromheavy to melodic to classic metal influenced sounds. It’s obviousthe guys are getting along great and enjoyed putting this albumtogether. Whether you’re a long-time Stryper fan, or just someonewho loves great hard rock/metal…this album is a must buy!
