At least once each festival there is a band which grabs one ofthe non-headline slots on the bill with both hands. At the Rock AmRing 2003 festival, this dvd captures that gig on June 6th, it wasThe Hives that did it. From the second Howlin Pelle Almqvist stepson stage it becomes apparent crowd paricipation isn´t optional. TheHives have a take-no-prisoners approach and before long he isencouraging the crowd to chant along about how good it is to haveSweden´s top musical export back in the Germany. Apart from theblistering pace of the tunes the group are in a class of their ownwhen it comes to dress sense. All in black with white and blackchecked ties The Hives sound is as slick as their wardrobe and forthe first time this weekend the crowd are starting to jump up anddown in unison.
