TD-124 mk2 har sex motorbussningar, monterade två och två med spetsarna mot varandra. Det speciella med den här uppsättningen är att den har tre extra mjuka bussningar som monteras i det nedre läget, i spelaren chassi, och ett par "normalstyva" bussningar som monteras upptill. De mjukare bussningarna ökar den mekaniska impedansen mellan motor och chassi, och dämpar därmed de mätbara vibrationerna i chassit med 3-5dB. Den hörbara effekten blir dock inte lika stor, eftersom motorvibrationerna i en frisk TD-124 är lägre än de från mellanhjulsmekaniken - hur stor den faktiska skillnaden beror därför på konditionen på skivspelaren.
Orsaken till att de mjukare bussningarna måste monteras underst är att de är så mjuka att de deformeras om de placeras överst.

Satsen kan kompletteras med en vanlig sats med de tre normala bussningarna för en TD-124 mkI, för den som vill experimentera själv med olika kombinationer, exempelvis för att kompensera för drivremmens sidobelastning på motorn. De mjukare bussningarna kan inte användas ensamma i en TD-124 mkI eller en TD-135. De är så mjuka att de då skulle att ge ett ökat rumble eftersom de skulle komprimeras av motorns tyngd.

A special set of six motor mounts (rubber bushings) in silicone rubber in two different Shore hardness grades for Thorens TD-124 mkII. Hand cast copies of orginal parts with better vibration damping and expected lifetime than the originals.

The difference between the sets of bushings in this kit increases the mechanical impedance between the motor and top plate of the turntable, thus reducing the rumble into the chassis of the turntable with ca 3-5 dB.

Please note that this does not translate into an equal reduction of the total rumble, since the idler mechanism in a healthy TD-124 normally is noisier than the motor. Hence, the final effect of this set compared to the standard one depends on the condition of the turntable.

The set must be mounted with the softer bushings in the lower position and the stiffer ones in the top one, since the softer grommets will be deformed by the weight of the motor if in the wrong position. Due to the softness they also can't be used alone in a TD-124 mkI. The weight of the motor would compress the bushings, increasing the rumble.

For the experimentally inclined this set can be combined with an additional normal set of three grommets for the TD-124 mkI, for trying out different combinations, e.g. for compensation for the sideways drag on the motor from the belt.
