Swedish metallers Powertrips, fromPitea, debut album Cold Black Tie was recorded, mixed and masteredin 2006, and contains 10 hard hitting songs. Powertrip bassistPeter Uven earlier stated: The album is gonna be a killer! It´shonest heavy R n R!! We are very pleased with the way the finishedversion turned out. Powertrip is a female fronted act and singerVikkis Johansson has a sound and style that is more reminiscent of60s and 70s rock. A lot of bands coming out of Sweden as of lateseem to fall into the glam metal category. Powertrip sounds nothinglike the majority of the bands coming from Sweden as of late. Ifanything, they probably have more in common with Soundgarden, thanthey do Crashdiet. Their bass-laden music is heavy, andunpretentious. Cold Black Lie shows the raw potential that thisband has. Powertrip changed name after this disc to Scars OfParadise, to better reflect their music. The band has appeared onnational television on both SVT and TV4.
