White vinyl with gatefold cover, bonus track, booklet andembossed slipcase

The White is a collection of songs recorded between 2004 and2007 and Agalloch has showed us in the past that they can run thegamut from folk-infused black metal to atmospheric post rock. Thisalbum leans more toward the latter, but with a very folksy andnature-inspired feel to it. The music is gorgeous and sweeping.Music made of wind, vocals made of frost, lyrics etched in stoneand weathered for centuries within a lost cave amid a dark northernforest. There are some samples from the movie Wicker Man (theoriginal) in a few of the songs. The best is the kids chanting 'wecarry death out of the village' in 5/4 time in the first song. Setsthings up nicely. This is probably the most importantnon-full-length release by Agalloch since Of Stone, Wind, AndPillor, so you just need to get your hands on this.
