Gaia is one of the most acclaimed and popular songs taken offthe Wildhoney album. It became one of the keystones in doom metaland evokes the lyrics of a classic melody. The band, led byvisionary guitarist, singer and songwriter Johan Edlund have beenat the forefront of doom and rock innovation since the early 90s,deeply influenced by Pink Floyd and paying the pertinent tributehere with their own interpretation of When Youre In. This coverreally feels like a loose, lazy band session, rather than thefairly meticulous and detail-obsessive styles showcased onWildhoney and A Deeper Kind of Slumber. It has a rather relaxedatmosphere, and the combination of Pink Floyd riffs and Tiamat’sstyle at the time works very well indeed. This is no coincidence, Isuspect.
