Louise Hederström for IKEA Bronze Sculpture – Stylised Couple – Dark Patina – 33 cm

Description

Elegant sculptural bronze figure designed by Louise Hederström for IKEA, featuring a stylised couple in a striking elongated form.
The sculpture depicts two abstract human figures standing closely together, their bodies almost merging into a single slender silhouette. The upper section is comparatively substantial, while the lower body extends into three long, narrow legs that meet the circular base.
Finished with a rich dark bronze patina, the sculpture has a simple yet expressive appearance characteristic of Scandinavian modernist design.
This example measures approximately 33 cm high, making it smaller than the more commonly encountered Hederström / IKEA figure measuring approximately 43 cm.
A distinctive decorative object for collectors of Louise Hederström, vintage IKEA and Scandinavian design, or as a sculptural accent in a modern interior.

Why This Item Stands Out

Louise Hederström’s highly simplified treatment of the human form gives this sculpture a strong Scandinavian modernist aesthetic. Viewed from different angles, the two figures appear alternately separate and fused together, creating an interesting sculptural effect.
At approximately 33 cm, this is the smaller version compared with the more frequently encountered approximately 43 cm Hederström / IKEA figure.
