An pair of antique French florets "Épée de Combat" from Klingenthal in Alsace, pre 1871 marked cie without Germany.

Note the long Indian head bended handles. total length about 103 cm.

Blade Markings The set is numbered 5."From 1871, Klingenthal was under German administration. The blades from this period were appropriately marked "Made in Germany". The Cie. becomes Co." These are marked Cie, so before 1871.

Very rare kind with Indian heads and rich decorations inside and outside. I cannot find another like these anywhere.
