German 1/2 Mark

This is a 1/2 Mark from Germany, dated 1905. The item features "DEUTSCHES REICH" and "1/2 MARK" on one side, and an eagle with a crown on the other.

German Empire 1905 ½ Mark – Wilhelm II – Silver Coin

Original 1905 German Empire ½ Mark silver coin, issued during the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II and representing one of the smaller silver denominations of Imperial Germany.
The obverse displays the denomination ½ MARK at the centre, surrounded by an attractive oak-leaf wreath. The inscription DEUTSCHES REICH appears above, with the date 1905 below.
The reverse features the crowned Imperial German eagle with spread wings, surrounded by a laurel and oak wreath. The imperial crown, central shield and feather details remain clearly visible. A small mintmark appears beneath the eagle.
The ½ Mark formed part of the standardized coinage system of the German Empire and circulated widely in the years before the First World War. These coins are especially popular with collectors of Imperial German silver coinage, Wilhelm II issues and pre-1914 European currency.
This issue was struck in .900 fine silver, with a standard weight of approximately 2.78 grams, giving it a fine silver content of about 2.5 grams.
The present example is in circulated condition with moderate wear and light surface marks. The denomination, date, oak wreath, imperial eagle and surrounding inscriptions remain clearly legible, and the coin retains an attractive overall silver appearance.
