Tibetan Classics - King Gesar

The book King Gesar (co-authored by Gyanpian Gyamco and Wu Wei) is a translated English prose adaptation of the legendary Tibetan heroic epic King Gesar. It recounts the mythical adventures of King Gesar of Ling, who is sent from the heavens to vanquish demons and protect his people.

Often referred to as the "Oriental Homer" or the "living" heroic epic, the full original myth is the longest in the world and has been recognized by UNESCO as part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The Gyamco and Wu Wei edition condenses these massive oral and musical traditions into an accessible, readable prose narrative.
