The firstversion of Le Griffe dates back to 1978 to late 1980 when the NewWave of British Heavy Metal band performed their first gigs andalso booked their first recording studio sessions. It was then whenthe first incarnation of the song Dead On Arrival appeared that nowis reworked and appearing as a bonus track on the album. The bandwas ambitious and the line-up changed leading to the recording ofthe Fast Bikes EP while they also kept performing live, evensupporting bands like Magnum. Charting in magazines like Sounds,they kept changing line-up and after the release of their secondand final EP, Breaking Strains, the band just ran out of streamwithout releasing a full-album. Their career might have ended in1984 but during their years together they m anaged to record a fewclassic NWOBHM songs. These are great tracks – solid NWOBHM thatrocks out pretty hard and is sure to get your head nodding. Thematerial is well written, with a real air of professionalism andsolidity about it. Great, catchy, melodic, yet hard rocking. Bandslike Wildfire, Trespass, More have a similar approach and talent atthis sorta thing. Fans of NWOBHM need to check this out as theyremain among the heroes of an era long gone but neverforgotten.
