British Intelligence:

In WWI Europe, a German spy, Valdar, (Boris Karloff) is masquerading as the butler of a British war official (Holmes Herbert). Helene Von Lorbeer (Margaret Lindsay) is a counterspy sent to live with the British family and rendezvous with Valdar. She is searching for a key operative in the German spy ring. British Intelligence is an espionage thriller filled with intrigue, identity puzzles and plot twists. Karloff is menacing as Valdor, with his unsettling limp and icy performance. Made at the outset of WWII in Europe, its´ reference to the new German threat is evident and timely.

Bulldog Drummond Escapes:

Ray Milland stars as adventurer and soldier-of-fortune Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond who rescues lovely damsel-in-distress Phyllis Clavering (Heather Angel). A scheming acquaintance is intent on stealing her sizable inheritance and holds her captive in a stately country manor. Phyllis´ brother is murdered and killers stalk Bulldog and his hapless friend Algy Longworth (Reginald Denny). Scotland Yard arrives to unravel the mystery, but not before Capt. Drummond faces the challenge of his life.

The Triumph Of Sherlock Holmes:

Sherlock Holmes (Arthur Wontner) and Dr. Watson (Ian Fleming) are lured out of retirement to investigate a mysterious murder at Birlstone Castle. They discover that a group of coalminers calling themselves The Scowlers are caught up in the plot, along with the treacherous Professor Moriarity (Lyn Harding). Holmes must battle wits and might with Moriarity and an American gangster to find the murderers and save The Scowlers from destruction. Stylishly shot with thrills and mystery at every turn, this fourth film in a series of five, with Arthur Wontner as Sherlock Holmes, is one of the best.
