Beccariophoenix alfredii

Seed-grown Beccariophoenix alfredii seedlings. Species is native to Madagascar. They look similar to Cocos nucifera (Coconut Palm), but are much hardier. They can take -1ºC already at a young age. My own plants have seen -1.6ºC without damage. Which is not to say that they prefer such cold temperatures, in the short term they will not be damaged. These palms require full sun to grow best.

You will receive a plant on the images or one of equivalent size and quality. Plants will be shipped bare-root.

Some of my plants have been grown outside during warm season, and as outdoor-grown plants the leaves may sport some nicks, scabs, and show some other minor damage. This is not a cause for complaint. It's normal wear and tear for plants. Overall the plants are in good condition with a healthy root system and actively growing.

When shipping, it is sometimes necessary to remove some of the leaves on larger plants to reduce transpiration and to make them fit into the package. Care will be taken to keep such removal of leaves to a minimum. This is not done to such an extent as to cause irreversible damage to a plant. New leaves will grow in and the plants will recover from such a practice.

Plants will be shipped bare-root. Will use a heat pack during winter months, November-March when necessitated by the weather.
Order processing time 1-3 days. Transit will usually take a week or so.

NB! Shipping may be delayed during extreme cold spells (temperatures around -15ºC and lower) during the winter period. You will be informed ASAP if your order will experience any such delays.
Shipping cost is 14 eur for all Nordic countries.
