Based on the green shield mark and the hand-painted numbers, this piece was manufactured by the French factory
Sarreguemines (Utzschneider & Cie) between 1875 and 1900 [2, 6, 7].
The specific design, known as the "Minton" series, was most popular during the late 19th century. The hand-painted red number 790 is a pattern code used by the artisans during this period to identify the specific floral decoration
Good condition there seems to be a repaired crack on the lid. Otherwise perfect shape.
