Swedishdeath metal act Satariel took their name from an ancient workcalled The Book Of Enoch, where Satariel was the 17th Watcher ofthe 20 leaders of the 200 fallen angels mentioned in the book.Satariel was founded in 1993 and after a couple of demos theyreleased their first full length labum Lady Lust Lilith in 1998.The follow up Phobos And Deimos was released in 2002 with theline-up of Par Johansson (The Duskfall) on vocals, Magnus Alakangas(Incinerator) on guitar, Robert Sundelin (Necromicon) on drums,Mikael Degerman on bass and Mikael Granqvist (Incinerator) onguitar. Satariel play post-At the Gates melodic Swedish deathmetal, similar in style to A Canorous Quintet, Arch Enemy etc.Phobos And Deimos features some great fast thrashers like CoffinGateways, groovy monsters like Stranger World, black death intensesongs like The Claim and the three highlight tracks The Sun IsGrey, Holy Trinity and Doveshooter that features the ex-MementoMori and Candlemass member Messiah Marcolin onvocals.
