Incubus - Beyond The Unknown CD 1990
Media: Near Mint (NM)
Sleeve: Near Mint (NM)
Former Death/Thrash Metal band from New Orleans, LA. USA. Were active as Incubus between 1986-1999. Changed name to Opprobrium sometime in 2000, to avoid any legal battles for the band name.
A Review picked from Rateyourmusic.com:
”Literally THE most under appreciated Thrash album.
I have heard about 58,000 metal albums. This must be the best Death Thrash album of the 90's. ALL tracks are totally killer with some of the most incredible grooving even Tech riffs with a super powerful song structure you won't understand until several listens.. blah blah but it's true. It's never boring because when you expect it will become boring another amazing even brutal piece pops in.
If you are a Thrash Metal fan and don't think this is a masterpiece, you really haven't given it a fair go. Or you're too old or stupid to try get into it now. lol. Try with headphones is what I do. They have never reminded me of Slayer and are far more intense, and I'm sorry but Kreator could never achieve something this monumental in terms of song structure. Sepultura could well do with a big dose of this album right now. Some of these old religious bands sure know their shit [apparently they're not really Christians btw, well it's not extreme anyway]. See OPPROBRIUM for the newest album.
Beyond The Unknown Cannot ever be topped by another oldschool Thrash album.
Highlights: All parts of all the tracks
BEST THRASH ALBUM I HAVE EVER HEARD.”
