This lot comprises twelve original European copper and bronze coins issued during the second half of the nineteenth century. Together they represent several of Europe's historic monarchies and states during a period of political unification, industrialisation, and monetary reform.
The collection consists of:
The coins remain in circulated condition with honest signs of use accumulated over more than 150 years. Surface wear, natural toning, oxidation and areas of verdigris are present on some examples, consistent with antique copper coinage. Each coin is housed individually in a protective cardboard 2×2 holder with handwritten identification.
This is an appealing type collection featuring multiple European countries, rulers and historical periods in a single lot. It offers an excellent opportunity for collectors of nineteenth-century world coins, beginning collectors seeking a representative European collection, or those wishing to expand an existing world coin cabinet with genuine historical pieces.
