This drive has 29,572 power on hours, confirmed by the Seagate FARM log, and was previously used 24/7 as Chia (XCH) plot storage. SMART overall health is PASSED, with 0 reallocated sectors, 0 pending sectors, 0 offline uncorrectable sectors, 0 reported uncorrectable errors and 0 spin retries. Load_Cycle_Count is 62,384.
A SMART short self test and a SMART extended self test, which reads the whole surface, both completed without error on 15-16 October 2026, and the reallocated, pending and uncorrectable counts were 0 both before and after testing.
The drive was at 42 C during testing. The highest temperature in its lifetime log is 64 C, which is above the 60 C that Seagate specifies for this model. Nothing in the SMART data shows any damage from it, the surface read passed and every error counter is still at zero, but I would rather tell you than have you find it yourself.
Testing was done with smartmontools 7.5 (smartctl) on a direct motherboard SATA connection, read only, and the full smartctl -x output is available on request.
