These books are for Django version 2.2. While the Django version has increased since then (it is on an annual cycle, so new version numbers do not mean major changes), these books still cover the core functionality you need to get going. Many of the improvements since 2.2 are related to performance rather than functionality. 2.2 had no async in django (though that is still not quite there ...) but that's not something you want to dive right into anyway if you're learning.
