Latvia’sYomi is a Japanese folk-metal band inspired by acts such asSkyforger, God of Shamisen, Yoshida Brothers and Oriental metal ingeneral. The band’s music combines heavy death, black and doommetal riffs with traditional Japanese melodies, telling aboutlegends, myths and history of Japan. Their third album, Land Of TheRising Sun, is an exceptional one and to hear a band from Latviabeing so inventive that they actually can make an original take onJapanese culture and folklore.
