For sale is a Marantz 2270 produced in 1974 with the original WC-22 beautiful wooden case, user manual and schematic diagram.
This unit comes from the later production run, so the issues of the early units had already been eliminated.
The visual and technical condition is original and unchanged – only the speaker relay has been replaced as a precaution. The unit plays flawlessly.
The metal cover is completely free of scratches.
The wooden case shows some signs of use but still looks very good for its age.
All knobs are original and undamaged – nothing has been glued or repaired.
The potentiometers are straight and original.
The amplifier still features the original pre-out/main-in jumpers and the original Motorola output transistors – the classic sound character of the 2270 is fully preserved.
There is some slight wear to the “POWER” label, and the plastic surround of the speaker terminals has a small crack due to age. These minor cosmetic flaws have absolutely no impact on the amplifier’s performance. The unit is still in excellent condition and sounds truly wonderful.
