Snatch-Back was an early an obscure NWOBHM act from St Helens inNorth West England that was formed back in 1974. During their 10years together they only released one vinyl single, the mega rareEastern Lady, that was recorded and released by the Central SoundStudios (CSS Records) in Manchester in 1979. Snatch-Back were truly“Indie” before the term was born. The band did all the promotionthemselves which meant a van, a load of posters and a big bucket ofwallpaper paste. They gigged throughout the North West and evensupported some album bands at the time. Back in those days manybands were made up of self-taught rock music loving kids that gotinspired of what they heard and then tried to come up with theirown material. Been brought to musical birth in the second half ofthe 70s meant that Snatch-Back were feeding on Deep Purple, TenYears After, Mott The Hoople, Genesis, The Faces, Bad Company, BackStreet Crawler, Budgie and Mountain. Even though the band had a lotmore material written and played it will be the two Bashful Alleylike single tracks that most people will judge them by. Then in2016 the members got back together and had so much fun that a fullblown reformation took place. The band recorded four new songs andreleased it on this Back In The Game album with the originally 1979single recording as a bonus as well as a rehearsal track with StevePlatt on vocals. What i do love about many of these NWOBHM reunionsthat are taking place is that most of these band still haven’t lostany of their musical visions. They still stay true to their musicalroots even though the modern equipment and technology gives it amore up-to-date sound. This was a pleasant surprise. Welcomeback
