Arcturus has never really allowed themselves to be restricted byany particular so called traits of their supposed genre, and thisalbum is no exception. Each one of their albums appears tometamorphoses into something different from their last. As such, ifyou are a fan of their music, you will find the changes in thisalbum jarring at first. It is almost alien in comparison to theirearlier stuff, but through repeated listening, you will slowlystart to notice the subtle nods that harkens back to their oldendays. This 2015 album is punishing brutal in places, soft andmelodic in others, and overall a magnificent piece of work that youwill come to love and treasure as an Arcturus fan. It is not ShamMirrors, Sideshow Symphonies or La Masquerade Infernale. It issomething entirely new that fills its own void, yet incorporatesall of the previous somehow. I cannot recommend enough, but youwill just have to see for yourself.
