The Reptile World Tour, or sometimes just The Reptile Tour wasan Eric Clapton tour held in support of his fifteenth studio albumReptile. This was announced as his last major world tour and heselected a number of musicians who also recorded on the 2001Reptile album. The basic line-up consisted of Andy Fairweather Lowon rhythm guitar, Nathan East on electric and acoustic bass guitar,Steve Gadd on drums and David Sancious on keyboards and rhythmguitar. For the South American leg of the tour, which consisted ofeight shows, Billy Preston had been replaced by Greg Phillinganeson the Hammond organ and keyboards for the performances. Claptonstarted the leg in Chile. On October 6, 2001, Clapton performed atthe River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina, supported bythe La Mississippi Blues Band and Memphis La Blusera. This showfrom Argentina can be found on this dvd. More shows then followedin Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico and his first ever shows in Venezuela.The Reptile World Tour marked Clapton´s second tour through SouthAmerica since the 1990 Journeyman World Tour. This show fromArgentina is amazing with a crowd of 35,000 all there to admireClapton´s music, his career, and his Blues/Pop/Rock/Funk/R&Bstyle. My Fathers Eyes, River Of Tears (I don´t know if its me ordoes this song just keep getting better), I Want A Little Girl,Layla etc all there to make this a magic experience. Claptonplaying with his eyes closed and taking the listeners to a magicalplace. Thank you Mr. Clapton.
