From First To Last -S/T cd American post-hardcore 2008

From First To Last is an Americanpost-hardcore band and their self titled 2008 is the band’s mostself-assured work to date. Guitarist Matt Good assumes vocal dutiesand his powerful delivery combines with the band’s melodic strengthand musical muscle to drive songs like World’s Away and We All TurnBack To Dust. We feel like this record is the most definitive oneyet, Good says, as far as representing who we are, as a group ofpeople. Co-founding guitarist Travis Richter notes, It’s a rockrecord for people now. It’s because we’re all a little older, ourfeet are more grounded and we do things a little differently thanwe did in the past. A lot of the songs are about taking control ofyour life, and being what you want to be instead of diggingyourself into a hole until you’re really unhappy, Good says. Someof the songs have a more humorous tone, some are trying to be veryinspirational. I don’t think there are any negative lyrics on thewhole record.
