This is a re-listing. After setting up the first auction, I was made aware that the lens suffered from what is apparently called "Separation". I searched the web and found a description of a former service technician who writes that it was a common problem for Zeiss lenses from that time:
"Separation tends to look worse with light reflected off its surface but with transmitted light it has little effect. Just to add, it is very difficult to repair separation on these Zeiss lenses. They used a very hard UV cure material that is extremely difficult to remove to repair the lenses. Most lenses of that vintage used balsam which was easier to remove and re cement but not these Zeiss lenses.”

I am therefore putting the lens up for sale again, with the mentioned reservation and lower price. I have added photos trying toshow the condition, both in reflex and transmission. To those who managed to bid in the first auction, I apologize for the inconvenience.

For sale here is a used Planar 80mm in mechanically good condition, no mechanicaldamage or scratches. Focus runs very smoothly and shutter speed and f-stop work mechanically well when tested on a 500C body.

The serial number suggests the year 1960. It has been stored away and has not been used for at least the last 30 years. Sold as seen - No warranty and no returns. Pictures are part of the description. Ask questions before bidding.
