Rosenthal figurine - Kneeling Pierrot, well-wisher, model number 49
Model number 49, circa 1923, signed C. Holzer.
As described in Emmy Niecol's reference book, volume 4/5, page 158 as follows: Kneeling Pierrot (well-wisher), with a lute on his back as a support, oval base,
painted on glaze, gold staffage, white, face painted in colour.
On offer is an outstanding figurine, made by Rosenthal around 1921, depicting a kneeling Pierrot, right hand holding a bouquet of flowers, left hand over his heart and mandolin behind him.
Designed by Constantin Holzer Defanti at this time.
The figure is in perfect condition with no wear to the gold.
It is marked on the underside with the green Rosenthal mark, as well as the embossed C-Holzer and the model number 49. A very early mould by the sought-after and famous sculptor Holzer Defanti.
Height: approx. 10.0 cm, width: approx. 10.5 cm, Art Nouveau style
