Bakgrund och beskrivning:
Jag köpte dem under resor mellan 2017 på en antik- och loppmarknad i Kyoto, Japan, som heter "Ennichi (Tenjin-san) Market". Här är länken till den marknaden: https://sharing-kyoto.com/event_Ennichi/story

Den hålls varje månad den 25:e vid en gammal helgedom - Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. (https://kitanotenmangu.or.jp/) Om du någonsin åker till Kyoto, missa inte den!

Det finns ingen signatur på detta stycke, jag har ingen ytterligare information om det.

Vedeldad ugn
Vanligtvis ger den vedeldade ugnen mycket mer förändringseffekt på glasyren jämfört med en gaseldad ugn. Det är lite som att baka pizza, vedugnen är alltid bättre.
En av anledningarna är att träaska positivt påverkar glasyren, träaska fungerar som en flux för glasyrer, vilket sänker smältpunkten. I gasugnen blir glasyren torr och matt, ibland så grov att krukorna verkar vara oglaserade. I vedugnen förvandlar askan glasyren (eller bringar den till en större smältning) tillräckligt mycket för att ge krukorna en sidenmatt yta istället för matt, utan att ändra färgen.

It is held every month at the 25th in an ancient shrine - Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. (https://kitanotenmangu.or.jp/) If you ever go to Kyoto Jpan, don't miss it!

Wood-Fired Kiln
Normally the wood-fired kiln gives so much more altering effect to the glaze compared with a gas-fired kiln. It is a little bit like baking pizza, the wood-fired oven is always better.
One of the reasons is that the wood ash positively affected the glaze, wood ash acts as a flux to glazes, lowering the melting point. In the gas kiln, the glaze turns into a dry matte, sometimes so rough that the pots appear to be unglazed. In the wood kiln, the ash fluxed the glaze (or brought it into a greater melt) just enough to give the pots a satin surface instead of matte, without altering the colour.
