Offering an extremely rare and highly collectible circa 1938-45 Fred BRAITLING Inc. 'True Family Real People' Dollhouse THE TEACHER
Fred K. Braitling Inc. rubber dolls are extremely delicate and very hard to find due to their fragility and only being made for a short period. They are discussed and shown on pages 64-67 in the wonderful book 'Dollhouse and Miniature Dolls 1840-1990 by Marcie and Bob Tubbs published in 2009.
The dolls were the brainchild of Majorie Tree Gregg. They have a wire frame with rubber sculpted, molded bodies and hand painted bodies. The rubber used tends to become brittle, discolor and crack over time which makes them very hard to find. The war ended the production of the dolls.
