In Soulcalibur IV, the great battle between the spirit sword Soul Calibur and the accursed sword Soul Edge continues.

Various fighters from all over the galaxy search for the powerful swords for their own reasons and to be met by the final verdict. Soulcalibur IV throws the series into the next generation and tenses its graphic muscles to show off its visual brilliance with a whole new look for both allies and enemies.

The brand new combat system in Soulcalibur IV is displayed with high resolution graphics and promises to revolutionize the entire fighting genre. With its extended customization mode, Soulcalibur IV allows the player to create a fighter with fully customized character traits and combat abilities. For the first time in the series, both custom characters and original contestants can be taken online to fight for the championship in grand matches. Soulcalibur IV has been developed by Project Soul, the legendary team behind Soul Blade and Soulcalibur I to III, and looks set to be a new launch for the series for both newcomers and old fans.

The ever-growing list of participants has grown further with e.g. Hilde, Scheherazade and Angol Fear, as well as the PLAYSTATION 3-exclusive character Darth Vader from Star Wars.
