ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Getting on to Thin Ethernet from your Quadra, Centris or Power Macintosh could not be easier. The EtherLan Thinnet Transceiver installs in seconds to your Apple Ethernet port (AAUI Port) and allows you to connect to any standard Thinnet cabling. Use the Provided T-Connector.

EASY INSTALLATION

Plug the AAUI connector into the AAUI Port on your Mac. The Green Power LED will illuminate when your Mac is on. Slide the T-Connector onto the BNC post and turn the rings clockwise until the small pins are seated in the grove on the T-Connector. If your Macintosh (or other device is at the end of the Thinnet run, you need to install a 50-ohm terminating resistor to one side of the T-Connector. This ensures that the ethernet signal is not reflected back down the Thinnet line.

THINNET LIMITATIONS

Maximum cable length is 185 meters, or 610 feet.

30 Nodes can be on one segment of RG-58 Coaxial Cable. A node can be a Mac or a PC or any other device. Each end of the Thinnet line must be terminated with a 50 ohm resistor.
